Planner Trends 2025: Focused Vision Board

As we approach 2025, a new trend in personal planning is emerging: the "focused vision board". Unlike traditional vision boards that encompass all your dreams in one place, this innovative approach involves creating individual boards for each section of your planner.

For example, your budget sectioncould feature images of your dream home or car, while your meal planner might showcase fresh vegetables and healthy recipes. This method allows for a more targeted visualization of goals, making it easier to stay organized and motivated.

By breaking down aspirations into specific categories, you can create actionable steps for each area of your life, enhancing clarity and focus as you plan for the year ahead. This shift from a singular vision to multiple focused boards reflects a growing desire for personalized   planners.
How can I incorporate this new trend into my existing planner system

To incorporate the new trend of focused vision boards into your existing planner system, follow these steps:

1. Identify Sections: Break down your planner into key sections such as budget, meal planning, education, and personal goals.

2. Create Individual Boards: For each section, create a mini vision board. Use magazine cutouts, printed images, or digital designs that represent your specific goals—like a dream home for your budget section or healthy meals for meal planning.

3. Visual Placement: Attach these boards directly in your planner next to the relevant sections. This visual cue will keep your goals top of mind.

4. Regular Updates: Make it a habit to review and update these boards regularly, adjusting them as your goals evolve.

5. Integrate with Planning Tools: If you use digital planners, consider using apps that allow you to create visual elements alongside your tasks, enhancing the integration of your focused vision boards.

By personalizing each part of your planner with targeted visuals, you can maintain clarity and motivation throughout 2025.

Trends for Planners 2025:Goal Setting

Hello, fellow planners! As 2024 comes to a close, I've found that setting and tracking goals in my planner has been transformative. In 2025, goal tracking is more popular than ever, with various frameworks helping us stay on course. Let’s explore the advantages of goal setting, review some popular frameworks, and discover resources to enhance your planning journey.

Why Set Goals?

Well, setting goals provides direction and purpose. We all need that. It helps us focus on what truly matters and motivates us to take actionable steps toward our dreams. Regularly reviewing progress keeps us accountable and allows for adjustments, ensuring we remain aligned with our objectives.

Popular Goal-Setting Frameworks

1. SMART Goals: This framework encourages setting Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals. It ensures clarity and feasibility in goal-setting.This is what the schools teach as the best way to set goals.

2. Eisenhower Matrix: This method helps prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, allowing you to focus on what truly matters while minimizing distractions. I have used this method several times but for bigger goals I find it is a bit simplistic.

3. OKRs (Objectives and Key Results): Widely used in business settings, OKRs help align personal goals with broader objectives by defining clear outcomes and measurable results. This is my kind of goal setting. Take the big goals, break it into chunks, map out the tasks for each chunk in your schedule and before you know it you'll be completing your goals. I like to think in terms of chocolate. You know those Hershey's bars that break into little rectangles? Ok, imagine the big box the store recieves. That is your big goals. Feel free to buy one of those boxes if you are a hands on learner....just a suggestion. Now you go to your table, open the box and take out the chocolate. You are not going to sit there and eat all the bars at once I hope. You would likely choose one bar and unwrap it further. That is like setting up the chunks that will achieve your goal. Once you break that thing into the individual rectangles....well that is like your tasks. You can rush through all the rectangles just as fast as possible, or you can take your time and enjoy each piece. How will you eat your Hershey's bar?

4.WOOP (Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan): Admit it, if you are gen x you are singing "Whoop there it is, whoop there it is". This strategy focuses on visualizing the desired outcome, identifying potential obstacles, and creating a concrete plan to overcome them. Be realistic, there will be obstacles. You can overcome them if you work out a solution ahead of time.

5. Bullet Journal Method: A flexible system that combines task management with goal tracking through rapid logging and migration techniques.
I have to admit watching copius amounts of bullet journallers on youtube is a guilty pleasure of mine. That being said I have started and dropped this method several times. To those of you who prevail, you have my deepest respect.

Advantages of Goal Tracking

Clarity: Clearly defined goals provide a roadmap for success.
Motivation: Seeing progress boosts motivation and encourages continued effort.
Accountability: Regular reviews help maintain focus and accountability.
Flexibility: Allows for adjustments based on progress and changing priorities.

Top Planning Trends 2025:Wellness Integration

Hello, dear friends! As someone who has navigated mental health challenges for over a decade, I've found solace and structure in my planners. In 2025, the trend of integrating wellness into our planners is more significant than ever. Let's explore how we can use our planners to track symptoms, set self-care routines, and stay motivated with creative spreads.

Wellness planning has evolved beyond just tracking appointments. Today, it encompasses mental, emotional, and physical health. This holistic approach is crucial for maintaining balance in our hectic lives. By dedicating sections of our planners to wellness, we create a personal sanctuary for reflection and growth.

Popular Planner Spreads for Wellness

1. Symptom Tracker: Use daily or weekly pages to note mood fluctuations, triggers, and coping strategies. This helps identify patterns and manage mental health proactively.

2. Self-Care Bingo: Create a bingo grid with self-care activities like meditation, reading, or taking a walk. Completing a row can be a fun way to stay motivated throughout the month.

3. Gratitude Log: Dedicate space to jot down things you're grateful for each day. This practice can boost positivity and mindfulness.

4. Habit Tracker: Track habits like hydration, exercise, or sleep to ensure you're taking care of your physical health alongside your mental well-being.

5. Vision Board Pages: Include pages for visualizing goals and aspirations with images and affirmations that inspire you.

Why Women Are Moving Towards Wellness Planning

Women are increasingly seeking ways to balance their multiple roles and responsibilities. Integrating wellness into planners provides a structured yet flexible approach to self-care, making it easier to prioritize health amidst busy schedules.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages:
Health Management: Combines mental, emotional, and physical health tracking in one place.
Motivation: Creative spreads like self-care bingo add an element of fun.
Personalization: Tailor your planner to fit your unique wellness needs.

Disadvantages:
Time-Consuming: Setting up detailed wellness spreads can be time-intensive.
Overwhelm: Too many sections might feel overwhelming if not managed properly. Start small. The last thing you want is to create another burden to stress about. Planning in a self care section should be a mini respite. If it is not, reevaluate the spread.
