Using a Traveler's Notebook for Faith Journaling: My Foxy Fix Setup & Flipthrough

Hello friends! Today, I'm looking back at a project that really shaped how I approach organization and creativity. If you’ve been following along, you know my love for Traveler's Notebooks (TNs) runs deep. They are so much more than just planners—they are flexible, portable sanctuaries for our thoughts, prayers, and art.

In the video below, I’m sharing a flip-through of my Foxy Fix Botanical leather TN, which I dedicated specifically to my Illustrated Faith devotionals. This setup solved a major pain point for me: wanting to dive into my study and journaling while on the go without carrying a mountain of supplies.

Why This System Works

One of the best things about using a TN for devotionals is the portability. By keeping my current study guides, stamps, and notes in one slim leather cover, I can easily sit in a quiet corner or a coffee shop and work away [00:11:19]. Here are a few highlights from this setup:

  • On-the-Go Stamping: I use the secretarial pockets to store my favorite faith-based stamps [00:03:14]. This makes it so easy to add creative touches to my pages wherever I am!
  • Modular Storage: My plan is to keep my active devotionals in the TN and move finished ones into a storage box [00:00:46]. This keeps the notebook light and focused.
  • Personalized Aesthetics: To make this bright "Botanical" leather feel more like me, I paired it with traditional lace and a handmade charm featuring a gold leaf and a pearl bead [00:01:18]. It brings that vintage, "shabby chic" vibe I love.

Featured Devotionals & Tips

In the video, I walk through several different booklets, including Rise Up, Goals with Grace, and Lists by Faith. A few things I’ve learned along the way:

  • No Rules Layouts: You don't have to fill these out in order! I read mine in sequence but jump around the pages based on what I'm reflecting on that day [00:04:01].
  • Layering with Texture: Don't be afraid to add bulk where it counts—fabric paper clips, washi tape, and distress inks [00:08:05] add a tactile, restorative feel to the process.
  • Creative Solutions: I used a plastic folder to hold extra scripture cards and notes [00:09:00], making the TN a complete resource for my study time.

Whether you're using your TN for planning, reading journals, or faith-based study, the flexibility is truly unmatched. It grows with you!

What are you currently keeping in your Traveler's Notebook? Let me know in the comments!
