Two Spinsters and a Murder: Disappointingly Dull

I really wanted to love Two Spinsters and a Murder. The promise of a cozy mystery, plus the potential for quirky small-town characters, seemed right up my alley. But honestly, this one almost landed on my dreaded “Did Not Finish” pile. The pacing moves at a snail’s pace, and there wasn’t much about the leads that made me want to root for them or spend more time in their world.

I kept with it, hoping the story would improve—and I’ll admit, the plot finally starts to pick up around the halfway mark. But after slogging through so many slow chapters, the ending just didn’t deliver a satisfying payoff. For me, the time invested simply wasn’t worth it. If you’re a die-hard fan of languid mysteries with minimal character spark, you might find something to enjoy. Otherwise, I’d give this one a pass.

Jeri Stockdale delivers a heartfelt and faith-filled romance with Risking It All. This story beautifully captures the truth that God has a plan even when life feels uncertain, and that He can take our deepest losses and hurts to transform them into something better in His own perfect timing.

From the first page, my heart ached for these characters as they grappled with the weight of past fears and painful experiences. Their struggles felt incredibly real, and their journey toward trust, faith, and love was both moving and inspiring. Watching them find the courage to risk everything for a new future together brought hope and warmth to my heart.

This book is a tender reminder of God’s redeeming love and His ability to bring beauty from brokenness. Fans of Christian romance will be swept away by Stockdale’s heartfelt storytelling and the message that no matter what we face, God is always at work behind the scenes.

I highly recommend Risking It All to anyone looking for a story that blends romance, faith, and healing in a meaningful way.
